Be the kind of mirror that when somebody looks at you, what they see reflected back to them is full of encouragement, support, goodness, and positivity

…what you reflect is what you project; make sure it’s something that you’d want others—and yourself—to see.

to be the best kind of mirror…

Be mindful of what you’re projecting – intentional not to multiply tensions, divisiveness, frustration, negativity, complaining, etc.

Provide clarity to help others see the good – highlight strengths & accomplishments… most people are harder on themselves than any other person could possibly be

Use 10x magnification wisely – help team members see things about themselves as they might appear to others

Connect the dots between ‘show & tell’ – bring discrepancies between ‘what you see’ v. ‘what you’ve been told‘ to your team’s attention in a helpful way

Use it to foster greater connection – body language matters… face directly when speaking with someone, maintain eye contact, & provide active listening (helps bond, create rapport, & foster deeper connection)

Turn your mirror into a crystal ball to reveal what’s possible – allow your mirror to become a window into the future to see your team members’ potential
